Artemis Project Organizations
- Artemis Society International

- If you dream of flying in space yourself or just want to see people out
there, you want to join the Artemis Society. The organization was formed in
August 1994 to provide everyone an opportunity to participate in the development
of the Artemis Project's lunar community.
Artemis Society International is a non-profit educational and scientific
foundation incorporated in the State of Alabama, USA. The Society leads the
non-profit element of The Artemis Project, and is staffed entirely with volunteer
effort.
- Artemis Society of Dallas

- The Artemis Society of Dallas is the proposed local chapter of Artemis
Society International for the Dallas, Texas area. The sole purpose of the
Artemis Society of Dallas is to support and assist Artemis Society International
in the achievement of its goals.

freely associated with the National Space Society. Host of
ISDC '98, LRS has published the Moon Miners'

- The Oregon L5 Society is organized are for charitable, educational, literary,
and scientific purposes, namely, to educate the public on the possible uses of

- The SETI League

- Are We Alone? That question has haunted humankind since first we realized
that the points of light in the night sky are other suns. Today we have the
technology to seek a definitive answer! The SETI League is participatory science.
We are the international grass-roots organization dedicated to privatizing the
Search for Extra-Terrestrial Intelligence.

- Space Access Society's sole purpose is promoting radically cheaper access to
space, ASAP. The SAS most notably produces frequent Space Access Updates, and
hosts an annual Space Access convention.

- California Space Development Council

- CSDC is a coalition of grassroots, pro-space activist and educational
organizations in California and Nevada, including the Golden Gate Space Frontier
Society, OASIS, Orange County Space Society, Silicon Valley
Space Society, Tahoe Area Space Society, Western Spaceport Chapter NSS. Our goal
is to foster the creation of a spacefaring civilization in which people living
and working in space is as natural as anywhere else.
- Caltech Space Society

- The Caltech Space Society was recently founded to promote space awareness on
campus and to educate others about space. It is a member of the Students for the Exploration and Development of Space and the National Space Society.
- Deutsche Gesellschaft für Luft- und Raumfahrt - Lilienthal-Oberth
e.V.
- The German Society for Aeronautics and Astronautics is the oldest aeronautics
and astronautics organisation in Germany. It offers various possibilities of
information exchange and other activities to everyone interested aerospace
related topics, and is actively developing hybrid rocket technology.
- Experimental Rocket Propulsion Society

- The Bay Area's Non-profit Liquid Fuel Rocket Engine Design and Test Team. The
ERPS was founded in February of 1993 to gather together interested amateurs to
learn about, design, build, and test liquid fuel rocket engines.
- First Millenial Foundation

- Huntsville Alabama L5 Society

- HAL5 is the Hunstville Alabama chapter of the NSS, and believes that by
educating and working with the public, the government, and private industry, we
can speed up the date when routine, safe, and affordable space travel is
available to anyone who "wants to go." In May 1997, Project HALO successfully sent a
balloon-launched hybrid rocket to the fringe of space.
- Illini Space Development Society

- A chapter of the National Space Society, ISDS sponsors guest speakers, Space
Film Nights for both the public and members, and other space education and
outreach activities. ISDS does not charge local membership dues -- our main
activities are free and open to the public.
- Association of Lunar and Planetary Observors

- Amateurs and professionals from all over the world, with a focus on
scientific planetary observation. Has sections for all the planets,

- ALPO Lunar Section

- Lunar observors publish their observations of lunar transient
phenomena, lunar observing opportunities, and lunar ephemeris events.

- National Space Society

- The National Space Society promotes change in social, technical, economic,
and political conditions to advance the day when people will live and work in
space. Hosts the International Space Development Conference, publishes Inside
Space and is one of the largest space organisations.
- Mars Society

- Fellow travelers with Artemis
Society International, focused on human exploration and
settlement of Mars.
The Mars Society founding convention was held August 13-16, 1998 at
the University of Colorado at Boulder, Colorado, where they adopted
the Founding Declaration listing the reasons for going to Mars. The
declaration concludes with "Believing therefore that the exploration
and settlement of Mars is one of the greatest human endeavors possible
in our time, we have gathered to found this Mars Society, understanding
that even the best ideas for human action are never inevitable, but must
be planned, advocated, and achieved by hard work."

Industrialization and Settlement
