To use a BMP image as your Windows backdrop:
- Copy the downloaded mosaic file into your \WINDOWS directory or folder.
- Win95 users right-click on any area of their existing backdrop, and then click on Properties. The choice of backdrops is under the background tab.
- Windows 3.1 users will have to use their Control Panel/Desktop to select the mosaic file as the background image.
- Check the "Tile" option for best effects.
To use the Artemis Project startup screen, copy the downloaded file to the root directory of your boot drive, naming it LOGO.SYS. Enjoy!
The following files are 256-color BMP images for use as a Windows backdrop image.

Option-Click on the links in the list below to download the MacBinary-compressed PICT file. Stuffit Expander or a similar program can decompress the PICT image for use.
To use a PICT file as your startup screen:
- Copy the downloaded mosaic file into your System Folder.
- Rename the file "StartupScreen".
To use a PICT file as your MacOS 8 desktop picture:
- Open the "Desktop Pictures" item in the Control Panels folder.
- Click the "Picture" button at the left.
- Drag the image file to the Desktop Pictures window. To have one of several pictures randomly selected when you start up your computer, create a new folder, place all of the images into the folder, and drag the folder icon to the Desktop Pictures window as above
- Click the "Set Desktop" button at the bottom.
To use a PICT file as your desktop picture in an earlier version of MacOS:
- Install the Desktop Picture utility on your computer.
- Open the Desktop Picture control panel.
- Select Add Picture and open the image you want to use as your desktop.
