Antenna Types

On the Reference Mission spacecraft, we'll need 3 types of antennas to transmit data back to Earth and in space. There would be one Ku-band antenna, which would be a steerable dish. The S-band antennas (we would need a couple of them) would look like a couple of cans on a T-shaped stalk:

                      ~24" ~24"

                          apparatus

The VHF antennas would be a number of plain whips, scattered around the external surface of the spacecraft.
