Planetary Defense

An increasing number of scientists throughout the world are worried about the possibility of a catastrophic event caused by an impact of a large comment or asteroid. Such events are rare, but they have happened in the past with devastating results on life on Earth. This section of the Artemis Data Book discusses the lunar community's role in early warning systems and planetary defense against killer comets and asteroids.
